The Winona Business and Professional Association and the City of Winona will host a drive-in movie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 18, in the parking lot of the Montgomery County Coliseum.
The WBPA will show the movie “The Polar Express” and families are invited to attend in their pajamas while in the comfort of their own vehicle to enjoy the movie. The movie will be shown on a big screen.
Concessions will be available, provided by HillFire.
The idea behind the event came from a collaboration between the WBPA and the City of Winona as a way to provide families with an evening of family fun, while staying safe.
Mayor Jerry Flowers said he believes the event will be a great time for the city, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, when so many Christmas traditions like annual Christmas parades held in Winona and neighboring towns have been canceled.
“I think it’ll be a wonderful time and a way for the citizens of Winona to get into the Christmas spirit,” Flowers said. “I want to thank Amanda Sexton Ferguson for all of her hard work.”
