Two Winona men face felony drug charges stemming from a Sunday morning traffic stop on Interstate 55 in Montgomery County.
Sheriff’s deputies stopped Carvelle Moore, 33 and William Crowley, 26, near the 185-mile marker around 9 a.m. that day and discovered in the vehicle 290 grams of marijuana, which they seized, according to Sheriff Jeff Tompkins.
The Honda Accord, in which the men traveled, crossed white lines several times, alerting deputies to stop the vehicle that smelled of marijuana, Tompkins said.
“They are charged with possession with intent, and Crowley was already out on bond from the aiding and abetting charge from the other day,” said Tompkins.
Deputies took both men to the Carroll Montgomery Regional Correctional Facility, where Crowley and Moore, remain on $100,000 bond each, Tompkins said.
