Countless believers today are asleep—not physically, but spiritually. Comfort, routine, and distractions have engaged too many into spiritual slumber. The world is hurting, the church is needed, and the gospel must be preached—yet many Christians remain passive, half-committed, or distracted by lesser things.
To be the kind of person Christ calls and wants us to be as dedicated Believers requires that we learn how to be content in whatsoever state we find ourselves. The most shining example of this is Paul, the apostle. Paul says in Philippian 4:11-13 ―”Not that I speak in respect of want; for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me.”
What was Paul’s secret in life? His secret was Christ’s power in his life. He could see life from God’s perspective. He focused on what he was supposed to do, not what he felt he should do. He had his priorities straight and was grateful for everything. When we think about it, often our desire for more or better possessions, our problem is not for more, but rather, there is emptiness in our lives – we are trying to fill with things, but which only God can fill. One way to fill it is to arise and be about the Master’s call to His ministry of mission.
To be an effective Christian missionary necessitates dedication, consecration, and faithfulness to God’s called. One must be ready, or rather let God make such one, ready, willing and empowered by the Holy Spirit to face struggle, pain, denial, suffering, affliction, prison, all for the cause of Christ and kingdom building.
True dedication means: Putting God First – Matthew 6:33 remind us to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.” Everything else must be secondary to His will. Living with Purpose – A dedicated Christian lives intentionally, seeking to glorify God in both big decisions and small daily acts. Standing Firm in Faith – Even when the world opposes biblical truth, a dedicated believer stands firm, not out of pride, but out of love and loyalty to Christ. Serving with Joy – Dedication is shown through service—whether in the church, the community, or in secret acts of kindness—done with a joyful heart.
