Reese Fulton was a Top 10 selection in football for Carroll Academy this past season.
Fulton also has some basketball skills as well.
Fulton put together two double-doubles including a 27-rebound effort in a 59-52 in over Winston Academy. The Rebels also beat Tri-County 43-41 and dropped a 43-29 decision to Canton.
The Lady Rebels beat Tri-County 51-47 but fell 33-19 to Canton and 41-38 to Winston.
Carroll will return to action after the Thanksgiving holiday as they host Manchester on Monday, Nov. 26. After that, they will travel to Canton on Monday, Dec. 3 and host Tri-County on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
Carroll boys 43, Tri-County 41
Carroll built an early lead and held on to take a two-point win over Tri-County on Monday.
Carroll led 17-8 at the end of the first and 24-12 at the half. Tri-County fought back in the third, outscoring Carroll 16-11 to cut the score to 35-28. Tri-County outscored Carroll 13-8 in the fourth but it wasn’t enough as Carroll took the win.
Fulton led Carroll with 22 points and 14 rebounds while Logan Taylor had 13 points.
Carroll girls 51, Tri-County 47
Carroll got a big game from Belle Sanders as CA held on to take a tight win over Tri-County.
Carroll led 14-6 at the end of the first and 27-22 at the half. Carroll outscored Tri-County 16-15 in the third and led 43-37 going into the fourth.
Sanders led Carroll with 18 points, six rebounds and six steals. Sara Austin Welch had nine points and Sandy Rhea Tackett had eight points.
Canton boys 43, Carroll 29
Canton pulled away with a big fourth period to beat Carroll by 14 on Tuesday.
Carroll led 8-7 at the end of the first but Canton took a 19-14 lead at the half. The Panthers outscored the Rebels 12-10 in the third and 12-5 in the fourth to take the win.
Logan Taylor had 12 points while Reese Fulton had eight points and 10 rebounds. Morgan Mims added six points.
Canton girls 33, Carroll 19
The Lady Rebels struggled from the field as the lost a 14-point contest to Canton.
Canton led 10-2 at the end of the first and 22-6 at the half. Carroll outscored Canton 9-3 in the third to cut the lead to 25-15. Canton took the fourth 8-4 for the final margin.
Belle Sanders had five points while Sandy Rhea Tackett and Kaitlyn Chambers each had four points apiece.
Carroll boys 59, Winston 52
The Rebels built a seven-point lead in the first period and held that margin for the win on Friday night.
Carroll led 11-4 at the end of the first and 25-19 at the half. Each team scored 17 in the third period and the Rebels held on in the fourth to take the win.
Reese Fulton had a huge night with 19 points and 27 rebounds while Austin Smith had 14 points and Logan Taylor had 10 points.
Winston girls 41, Carroll 38
The Lady Rebels made a late charge but came up short as the Lady Patriots held on for the win.
Winston led 10-8 at the end of the first and the Lady Patriots outscored the Lady Rebels 16-4 in the second to lead 26-12 at the half. Carroll outscored Winston 8-7 in the third and 18-8 in the fourth.
Sandy Rhea Tackett had 14 points while Belle Sanders had 10 points. Gracie Turner had nine points, seven rebounds while Sanders added five steals.
