With a gloomy forecast ahead for Saturday, many are probably asking what will happen if it rains Saturday for Vaiden’s Heritage Festival.
Mayor Mel Hawthorne said rain or shine, the festival will continue, but, he’s praying for no rain and a sunny day.
“It would be hard to reschedule it, and we don’t have a rain day so we have to move forward, rain or not,” Hawthorne said.
Regardless of the weather, Hawthorne is hoping for a great turnout for the festival, which will be held from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 in downtown Vaiden and will feature with vendors and will feature arts, crafts, activities for children, hayrides, face painting, jumpers, food, entertainment and more.
This year’s entertainment will feature Hearts of Joy, Bud “The Blues Doctor” Carson and DJ Marlo Givens.
