With temperatures dropping, and less than a month out, Santa’s is preparing to load his sleigh, and towns in Carroll County are preparing for their annual Christmas parades.
In Vaiden, the Christmas parade will be 11 a.m. on Dec. 1, with lineup beginning at 9:30 a.m. near the old Vaiden High School campus. There is no entry form and participants are free to enter. If anyone wants to participate, they must call city hall at 662-464-5266 to be placed on the list.
Right after the Vaiden Christmas Parade, people are encouraged to attend the Carrollton and North Carrollton Christmas Parade at 3 p.m. that same afternoon in Carrollton. Lineup for participants is at 2:30 p.m. on Highway 17/35 North, just past the Carroll County Courthouse.
The theme this year is “A Classic Christmas Movie,” and entries don’t have to incorporate theme, but it is encouraged. Entry forms can be picked up at the Carroll County Extension Office and the deadline to turn in entry forms is 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 1.
Organizers said there will be a table at the Carrollton Emporium where participants can turn in their forms. Lineup is first come, first served.
Also, Christmas parade t-shirts are for sale and are $15 and $18. Shirts can also be purchased at the extension office.
