Modern Woodmen of America, Rock Island, Illinois, has recognized local financial representative, James Bennett, of Winona, as a finalist for its Fraternal Excellence Award.
This annual honor is given to one Modern Woodmen financial representative from across the nation who demonstrates ideal fraternal behavior. Fraternalism is Modern Woodmen’s way to give back to members and bring them together to make an impact in their local communities.
The finalists for this award are chosen by a panel of judges at Modern Woodmen’s headquarters. To be a finalist, James showed his commitment to fraternalism and giving back to his community.
Examples of the impact he’s made with local Modern Woodmen members include:
• Creating a donation drive for a local animal shelter.
• Holding a matching fund event for a member in need.
• Helping a local family when their child was in the NICU.
In 2023, chapters across the state of Mississippi contributed over $1 million in support of social, educational, volunteer and fundraising activities, including total dollars raised by member chapters and youth clubs partnering with community groups.
