North Carrollton's brand-new Senior Citizen Resource Center (SCRC) celebrated a successful soft opening on May 16, 2024, marking the culmination of two years of dedicated community effort.
A One-Stop Hub for Non-Medical Needs
The SCRC is a non-medical resource center designed to serve as a central hub for senior citizens, adults with disabilities, and veterans with disabilities in the North Carrollton area. We offer essential information, enriching programs, and a strong sense of community, all under one roof.
"More Than Bricks and Mortar"
"The true value of the SCRC lies not just in the building itself, but in the lives we will touch," says Fred Fluker, Founder and CEO of the SCRC. "We're excited to empower individuals and build a thriving community together."
Focus on Accessibility and Convenience
The SCRC prioritizes accessibility. In the first phase, many services are available online through our user-friendly website. This allows individuals with mobility limitations to access information, apply for benefits, schedule appointments, and connect with staff – all from the comfort of home.
Serving Now from a Temporary Location
While construction on the permanent SCRC facility continues, we're thrilled to announce that services have already begun! We're currently operating from a temporary location next door, ensuring uninterrupted support and programming for our valued members.
Enriching Lives and Building Community
The SCRC is dedicated to creating a high-quality environment that fosters social connections, educational opportunities, and access to essential services. We strive to empower individuals and enrich their lives.
A Team Built on Compassion
Our passionate team is committed to making every person who walks through our doors feel valued, respected, and empowered. We combine compassion with professionalism to serve our community with the highest standards.
