The Winona Christian tennis team got the season kicked off last week with a tough match against Winston Academy.
The Stars took a tight 5-4 win over the Patriots in the season opener.

In boys singles, Winona lost both points as Evan Williams lost 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot while Christian Lay lost 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 2 spot.
In boys doubles, Winona Christian won both points. Deuce Monneyham and Reese Cooper won 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 in a third-set tiebreaker at the No. 1 spot while Riley Harville and Tag Brooks won 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 2 spot.
In girls singles, Winona split as McKenzie Ingold lost 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot while Salley Hill won 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 2 spot.
In girls doubles, Winona split again with Winston. Neely Nowell and Emily Majory lost a tough match, falling 1-6, 6-1, 12-10 in a third-set tiebreaker at the No. 1 spot. Lexi Ingold and Aubree Ingold won 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 2 spot.
In mixed doubles, Trager Yoeman and Lucy Oliver easily won 6-0, 6-0.
