Two men were bound over to the Grand Jury in Municipal Court on Feb. 23.
Justin Dale Stewart, 30, appeared in Winona Municipal court to face a grand larceny charge. Bradley Brickeen filed the charges against Stewart, according to Judge Roberts.
Judge Keith Stokes Roberts, who presided of Stewart’s case, found probable cause for the charge and bound Stewart back into the custody of Winona police to await the grand jury.
His original bond had been $75,000, but Roberts reduced it to $12,500.
In an unrelated case, Jordan Matthews had at first been charged with a second count of driving under the influence, but after reviewing Matthews’ file, Prosecuting Attorney Luther P. Crull moved to make the DUI a felony charge, as it was actually Matthews’ third charge.
Judge Roberts appointed Payne Horan to represent Matthews, after Crull requested that the minimum bond for the charge be set.
Judge Roberts found probable cause that a crime was committed and bound Matthews over to await the Grand Jury. He set bond at $5,000.
Horan requested that Matthews’ bond from the initial charge be applied to his felony bond. Judge Roberts agreed to discuss the request further after the court was no longer in session.
