On Saturday afternoon, Nov. 2, during an investigative stop on Hwy 82 near Carrollton, Carroll County Deputies discovered a large amount of methamphetamine. Along with the drugs, deputies also located a weapon, and other items related to the sale of methamphetamine.
The driver of the vehicle, 55-year-old Tyrone Wright of Belzoni, was arrested and booked into the Carroll County Regional Correctional Facility. Wright faces charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Sale of Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon. He remains jailed awaiting an initial appearance.
Sheriff Walker said, “Let this be a message to those dealing drugs and running them through our county. It will NOT be tolerated in Carroll County.”
