Jackson, Miss. – The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) concluded the 2025 Thanksgiving Holiday Travel Period on Sun, Nov. 30th at midnight. The period began on Wed, Nov. 26th, at 5 p.m. The Mississippi Highway Patrol issued a total of 6,492 citations, made 85 arrests for impaired driving, and cited 577 motorists for occupant restraint violations. MHP also investigated 243 crashes resulting in 43 injuries, with two fatal crashes and two deaths. The fatal crashes occurred in Walthall and Lincoln Counties.
