Stars host Delta Streets in nondivision play

Winona Christian football coach Ken Chandler has said all season that the Stars have had trouble stopping the run.
That didn’t change any on Friday night as rival Central Holmes ran for 419 yards and took a 49-21win over the Stars in a key district 2-3A matchup.

WCS finish 2nd in North

The Winona Christian Lady Stars finished second in the Class 4A North State tournament that finished up on Monday.
Winona opened with a 4-2 win over Lee and then lost 8-1 to North Delta. On Monday, the Lady Stars came back and beat Carroll and Lee 12-6 each and then took a 9-8 win over North Delta before falling to Marshall 11-3.

But on Friday night, Greenville St. Joseph had better skilled players.

Chandler was right, and the Stars rolled to a 35-0 win over the Raiders.
Winona Christian improves to 3-1 on the season and will travel to Winston Academy on Friday night.
