Spooky season begins

Our “Spooky” month has begun. There will be witches, ghosts, and goblins decorating yards, house porches, and store fronts for the next few weeks. I have “Gresilda” standing on our fireplace hearth with her googling eyes and purple witches hat cackling out to all who pass.

One and only dove hunt

What is it about cool weather that triggers the need to hunt in the male species? It begins when dove season opens and last until late January with deer season of the coming year. Well, actually it began with one of my grandsons when the weather was still so hot outside, I needed to take off stuff I really needed to keep on.

Cooling through the decades
