Grenada man charged with poss.

A Grenada man awaits the action of the Montgomery County Grand Jury on five felony charges.
Montgomery County Sheriff Jeff Tompkins said Edrick House, 30, of Grenada, was arrested May 2 after his deputies were conducting a routine safety checkpoint. He said the checkpoint was conducted on Highway 51 near Branscome Road in Duck Hill.

Plans underway for Christmas on the Square

County Board discusses need for Vaiden Police Dept.

The Vaiden’s Board of Aldermen have in previous meetings, more recently their monthly meeting in July, said they want to have their own police force, but they cannot afford it. Most recently, Mayor Stella Washington-Bell said she reached out to Senator Lydia Chassaniol (R-Winona) for help after the tragic death of Orlando Pittmon.
