Kelden Blackmon, a 13-year-old eighth-grade student at J.Z. George High School in North Carrollton, was honored for his bravery and quick thinking during a house fire on June 1. Blackmon received a plaque for dedication and heroism at a benefit program held Saturday, August 3, at Tom Hearn's Tire Shop in North Carrollton.
