A man faces capital murder charges after allegedly abducting and killing a victim from the Nissan plant in Canton on Monday morning.
Joshua Andrews has been charged with Capital Murder and Felon in Possession of a Firearm in connection with the incident. The victim, who was shot multiple times, was found deceased along Interstate 55 at the 161-mile marker in Holmes County.
Andrews surrendered himself to authorities at the Carroll County Regional Correctional Facility in Vaiden, where he was taken into custody by Carroll County Sheriff's deputies. Madison County officials then transported him to their jurisdiction.
Madison County Sheriff Randy Tucker described the crime stating in a Facebook post, “This is a heinous crime that shocks the conscience of society and Andrews will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
Investigators have recovered a weapon in connection with the case. Andrews is currently being held at the Madison County Detention Center, where he awaits prosecution in Madison County.
Multiple agencies assisted in the investigation, including the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, Madison County District Attorney's office, Mississippi Highway Patrol/Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (Greenwood Division), Nissan, and the Madison County Sheriff's Office investigators and deputies.
