The Winona softball team dropped a doubleheader to Southeast Lauderdale last week and had two games rained out.
“We committed way too many errors,” coach Steven Helms said of 3-2 and 14-4 losses to Southeast Lauderdale. A misplayed fly ball resulted in the 3-2 loss.
McCayla Helms had three RBIs in the two games and Sarah Winters doubled in the nightcap.
Rain washed out games with Raleigh and Forest. The Raleigh game will be made up April 18. The Forest game will also be rescheduled at a date to be determined.
The Lady Tigers play at French Camp Saturday, Weather has been a detriment to the team's progress. “Since February started, we haven't been on the field very much. We had to go inside to hit,” Coach Helms said. “You can't get in a groove.”
