The Winona boys soccer team dropped a 3-0 match to Strayhorn and had two contests called off due to winter weather.
“Defensively, we're playing better, but we were not able to contrlo the ball to get shots on goal,” said coach Mark Austin. He said defender Garrett Ables had a strong game.
Scheduled games with Mississippi School for Math and Science and a rematch with Strayhorn were not played. A tentative makeup date of Jan. 22 has been set for MSMS. The Strayhorn game probably will not be rescheduled.
The Winona girls were beaten by Strayhorn 11-1. Kristen Robertson scored the Lady Tigers' goal, with an assist from Krystal Hughes. Hannah Metzer had four goals and an assist for Strayhorn.
