The Winona Christian Lady Stars only got in one game last week as they dropped an 8-0 decision to Marshall on Monday.
WCA was set to host Marshall Academy Tuesday, then play in the Carroll Academy Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 8.
In the Carroll tournament, the Lady Stars will take on Sharkey at 9 a.m. and then Magnolia Heights at 11:40 a.m. in pool play games. Their third game of the day will be at 3:40 p.m. If the Lady Stars win their pool, they will play in a semifinal contest at 5 p.m. The championship game is scheduled to be played at 6:30 p.m.
Marshall took the early lead as the Lady Patriots scored one run in the first and second innings and continued to expand that lead with two in the fourth and four in the sixth.
Winona had just three hits in the contest as Elise Diffey was 2-for-3 and Harlee Whitten also had a single. Jada Mims also had one walk.
