The Winona Christian Stars should be well rested as they enter the Class AA playoffs this week.
By the time Winona Christian takes the field this week, it will be two weeks since Stars have played. Their last game was on April 16 when they beat Carroll Academy 22-1.
The Stars were scheduled to play Starkville Academy on Thursday but that game was rained out.
The Stars will now begin the Class AA playoffs as they take on district champion Tri-County Academy. Game 1 of the series was set for Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Winona while Game 2 of the series will be Thursday at Tri-County at 4 p.m.
If the two teams split the first two games, a game 3 would follow game 2 on Thursday.
Tri-County is 15-8 on the season and is coming off a 10-4 loss to Heritage, Class AAA playoff team. Before that game, Tri-County had won five straight run-rule games heading into the playoffs.
