The Winona slow pitch softball team dropped four games last week.
“We have to get better,” said Coach Michael Cox.
The only close game was a 16-12 loss to Shannon. Winona had 15 hits and led 12-8 until Shannon took advantage of seven errors and two walks to score eight runs in the sixth.
Katy Kendall Ware, Madison Mills, Haley Mills, Allyn Claire Gant and Alexis Matthews each had two hits. Gracie Cordell doubled and Sarah Winters had one hits, two walks and a sacrifice fly. Olivia Swindle drove in three runs and Madison Mills had two RBIs.
Winona had four hits in each of the other games, losses to Hamilton 17-2, Eupora 10-1 and Tishomingo County 10-0. Hamilton and Eupora are Class I, Region 4 games.
Winona has a home region game with East Webster Thursday and a home game with Forest Saturday.
