J.Z. George's football team had two players chosen to the 2019 Region 2-2A Super 25 team, which is selected by the coaches in the district.
An obvious pick for the Jaguars was sophomore running back Deriaun Townsend. The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder ran for over 100 yards in eight of J.Z. George's 11 games this season as he racked up 1,442 yards and 11 touchdowns on 179 carries (8.1 yards per carry).

Joining Townsend on the Super 25 team is sophomore D'Anthony McGlothan. The 6-foot-1, 160-pounder made the team at strong safety after recording 100 total tackles for the Jaguars. He had an 18-tackle performance against Eupora with 13 solos and five assists. In that game, he also returned an interception 75 yards for a score.
In an earlier game against Winona, he recorded 16 solo stops and three assists to go with one caused fumble. Against Central Holmes, he had 12 solo tackles, six assists and caused a fumble.
Selected to the second team for J.Z. George were sophomore quarterback Jordun Normal, junior fullback Jacob Johnson and junior linebacker Wil'tavious Williams.
