The Panthers led 15-8 after the first quarter. Yazoo County then outpointed J.Z. George 20-6 in the second period and led 35-14 at the half.
J.Z. George got some offense going in the third quarter as the Jaguars put in 14 points. However, Yazoo County carried a 55-28 lead into the fourth quarter. J.Z. George played the Panthers close as Yazoo County had a 15-12 scoring edge.
Malik Branch and Keldrick Glover both scored 15 points to lead the Jaguars.
“It was good to see Keldrick starting to score more points,” Coach Jonathan Child said. “We were out of school this past week because of the weather and didn’t get a chance to practice. We were a little rusty. Losing is tough, but I am seeing improvement.”
