The Montgomery County boys track team won three events at the Region 3-1A meet last week at Ridgeland High School.
Sophomore Cedric Bibbs won the 800 in 2:24.48, senior Herardo Mertinez-Reyes the discus with a throw of 108-3, and the 3200 relay team finished first in 10:40.84. Relay team members are junior Rashaun Baker, junior Gregory Georgia, Bibbs and Frederick McCarroll, an eighth grader.
The top four in each event qualified for the South State meet Saturday at Madison Central High School. Bibbs qualified in the 1600 with a third place finish and Williams in the 400 with third.
The only Montgomery County girl to qualify was Ty Monduhano with a second-place finish in the discus.
