Former Montgomery County boys coach Frank Miller was hired in mid June to coach the Winona High School girls basketball team and is anxious to work more with his team.
“I took them to a camp at Delta State," Miller said. "They played okay. Not great, but not terrible.”
He will be doing very little with the team during July. “I may try to get some of them in for a few days of individual work.”
Some basketball players will be playing slow pitch softball in the fall. “The others who aren't playing softball, we'll get them going with a little individual work. We'll work on their skills. When softball season is over, we'll get more into team skills.”
The Lady Tigers finished the 2017-18 season with a 15-12 record, including a 57-49 loss to West Bolivar in the opening round of the 2A playoffs.
