WCS defeats Indianola

The Winona Christian Lady Stars took control of District 2-3A play last week with a big win over Indianola.
The Lady Stars beat the Lady Colonels 4-1 on Monday in their only game last week.
Winona, now 12-8 on the season, was scheduled to play at Carroll on Monday and then host Indianola on Tuesday in a pair of district games.

Rebs pound way to win over Kirk

Carroll Academy football coach Bo Milton has found a formula that works for his team. The Rebels used a stout, physical defense and kept pounding the football and took a 36-0 win over home- standing Kirk Academy on Friday night in the season opener for both teams.

The Winona Tigers finally got in a full week of practice as Mississippi public schools were allowed to practice for the first time this fall. Winona coach Joey Tompkins had mixed reviews of the first week practice.
