Winona defeats Water Valley

Winona quarterback An'Darius Coffey was sensational, as usual, in a 54-35 victory over defending 3A state champion Water Valley. But it was a special teams touchdown and a defensive TD that turned the game in the Tigers' favor.

CA, WCS showdown this Friday

Two of the state’s top Class 3A football teams will meet this week in Winona with the District 2-3A title on the line.

Winona Christian enters the game with a 6-0 record and is 3-0 in district play while Carroll is 5-1 overall and 2-0 in district play.

WCS Lady Stars close out season

Winona Christian’s season came to an end last week with a pair of losses in the Class AAA state tournament.

Winona lost 14-4 to Riverfield in the opener and then lost 13-2 to Marshall in the elimination game.

Winona Christian finishes the season with a 17-21 record.
