A graveside service for Mrs. Shirley Tyler Stafford of Winona was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, at Scotland Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Trae Miller and Rev. Jay Anderson officiated the service.
Mrs. Stafford passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025, at her residence in Winona, at the age of 90. She was born in West, Miss. to James and Mavis Sanders Tyler on Sept. 27, 1935. Mrs. Stafford was a member of Scotland Baptist Church in Winona. She loved animals, especially birds, dogs and cats. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies included playing dominoes and collecting magazines and she was an avid Mississippi State sports fan. Prior to retiring, she worked as a nurse for Gambel and Archer Clinic in Greenville.
She is survived by her sons, James Neil Stafford (Margie) of Southaven and Stephen Roger Stafford of Winona; three grandchildren, McKenna Katherine Gibson (Paul Brennon) of Alabama, Collin Michael Neil Stafford of Winona and Conner Jarrett Stafford of Madison; three great-grandchildren, Delta Aven Gibson, Hunter Elizabeth Gibson and Rowan Hob Gibson; brother, Roy Tyler of Carmack and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Neil Stafford Jr. ; son, Larry Michael Stafford and sisters, Dell Bohannon and Bonnie Harvey.
