A Saturday night fire destroyed a pole barn and several other structures at 914 Scotland Road in Winona, sending one person to the emergency room.
Montgomery County 911 received the call at 9:01 p.m. on Dec. 21. When Winona Engine 1 arrived at 9:08 p.m., firefighters found a pole barn, camper, vehicle, utility trailer and multiple propane tanks fully engulfed in flames.
The fire drew responses from multiple agencies, including the Winona Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Montgomery County Fire Investigator, and Delta Electric. Winona PD transported the patient to the Emergency Room.
Fourteen Winona firefighters responded to the scene, using 2,250 gallons of water to battle the blaze. They were on the scene for approximately one hour and 45 minutes. Fire Chief Johnson reported the incident is under investigation.
