Carroll Academy saw its baseball season come to an end last week but not without a fight.
Carroll lost game 1 of a Class 4A series to North Delta 8-1 but bounced back and took the second game 8-4. North Delta then took the rubber match 13-1 to take the series.
Carroll finished the season with a 9-18 record.
North Delta 8, Carroll 1
The Green Wave banged out 15 hits and took a seven-run win in the opening game of the series on Tuesday.
North Delta scored two in the second and six in the third while Carroll scored one in the fifth.
The Rebels had just four hits, all singles by Reid Blaylock, Hayes White, Rhett Blaylock and Parker Daves.
Reid Blaylock started on the mound for the Rebels and went 2 2/3 innings and gave up eight runs on 11 hits. Cole Beckwith pitched the final 4 1/3 innings and gave up just four hits while striking out two.
Carroll 8, North Delta 4
The Rebels bounce back on Wednesday and forced a game 2 with a four-run win over the Green Wave.
Each team scored one in the first while the Rebels scored three in the third and four in the fifth. North Delta added two in the fifth.
The Rebels had seven hits and drew seven walks. Reid Blaylock and Reece Jordan each singled and drove in two runs. Jake Truitt and Parker Daves each doubled and had an RBI while Hayden Hopkins singled, walked twice and scored two runs.
Hayes White started on the mound and pitched all seven innings, scattering nine hits as he gave up four runs and struck out three.
North Delta 13, Carroll 1
The Green Wave grabbed an early lead and cruised to a four-inning, run-rule win on Thursday to take the series.
North Delta scored six in the first and five in the second to lead 11-0 after two.
Carroll had just four hits as Reid Blaylock singled and scored. Rhett Blaylock singled and had an RBI while Hayes White and Cole Beckwith also singled for the Rebels.
Reed Thomas started and only got two outs as he gave up six runs on five hits while Parker Daves pitched 2/3 of an inning and gave up four runs on three hits. Beckwith pitched 1 1/3 innings while C.J. McDonald pitched the next 2/3 of an inning.
