The Carroll Academy baseball team got in two games last week and got swept by Washington School in a doubleheader.
Washington won the first game 15-6 and the second game 16-7.
Washington 15, Carroll 6
The Generals used a 10-run fourth inning to take a five-inning, run-rule win over the Rebels in the first game of a doubleheader on Thursday.
Carroll led 6-4 going to the bottom of the fourth when Washington plated 10 runs.
Washington outhit Carroll 17-10 in the contest. Parker Daves was 3-for-3 for the Rebels with a double and two RBIS while Reid Blaylock was 2-for-2. Hayes White and Reed Thomas each doubled for the Rebels.
White started on the mound and pitched 2 1/3 innings and gave up three runs on five hits and six walks while striking out four. Thomas pitched 2/3 of an inning and took the loss and gave up eight runs on nine hits. C.J. McDonald pitched 1 2/3 innings and gave up four runs on three hits and three walks while striking out two.
Washington 16, Carroll 7
The Rebels couldn’t hold onto an early lead and the Generals took a nine-run win in the second game of a doubleheader on Thursday.
Carroll scored five in the first while Washington scored eight in the second, three in the third and fourth to take a 14-5 lead. Each team scored two in the fifth for the final margin.
Each team had 14 hits in the contest. Reed Thomas was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs while Jake Truitt was 3-for-4 with a double. Reid Blaylock was 2-for-3 while Hayden Hopkins and Hayes White each doubled.
Cole Beckwith started and pitched just one inning, giving up four runs on two hits. Reece Jordan pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up seven runs while Parker Daves pitched 1 2/3 innings and gave up five runs on six hit.
