Below is a political press release from The Mississippi Public Service Commission:
Northern District Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley joined Atmos Energy and Pontotoc County officials for a natural gas ribbon cutting ceremony in Eastern Pontotoc County.
The fourth phase of Atmos’ rural expansion project in Eastern Pontotoc will install 14,000 feet of gas lines to connect natural gas to approximately 63 homes and businesses at a cost of $500,000. With the completion of all phases of this expansion, Atmos will have invested nearly $2 million over the course of two years; installing 47,000 feet of gas main to expand their system to approximately 200 residents in the area.
“I am proud to join with Atmos Energy and Pontotoc officials today for this milestone. The completion of Atmos’ Eastern Pontotoc rural expansion projects will provide natural gas service to 200 rural Mississippians,” said Commissioner Brandon Presley. “This expansion will not only help reduce energy costs for residents but promote economic development in rural Pontotoc County.”
Eastern Pontotoc County residents who would like to sign up for natural gas service with Atmos Energy or inquire about service availability at their address should call Atmos at (662) 690-5204.
