As we get closer to Easter Sunday, I’m reminded that Rev. Billy Graham had a lot to say over the years about Christ’s death and resurrection—what he called the two most important events in human history. “The cross shows us the seriousness of our sin—but it also shows us the immeasurable love of God.”
With Easter Sunday just a few days away I think about how through the challenging times whether it is the pandemic, storms, and many other disasters, our faith is our foundation. We are a strong community; I believe that there are so many great things ahead for our area that will live on for generations. To mention one that will soon be in effect that is on the horizon. For example Carroll County Board of Supervisors President Jim Neill has an excellent plan that will be bided out here in 2025 for a recreational park at Big Sand Creek. This effort for the park will be funded with a grant and will be a great addition to the new bridge.
Our faith is our foundation through the years, and our continuance for the future. This Easter as we gather, we remember the challenges of the past and look to the future with faith. The scriptures are our guidance, Romans 6:9 states: "We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him."
I have listened many times in church the classic hymn written by George Bennard in the early 1900’s, “The Old Rugged Cross”. The steadfast commitment to Jesus that the song encourages is uplifting.
Through the years each of us never knows what may come our way in this life, just like the recent storms. What we can depend on is Jesus seeing us through. I know that I would not have ever made it this far if not for Him. As so many have been faced with the loss of loved ones, the sickness of family members, financial hardships, and all the events that life brings our way. Faith will carry us through life.
The scriptures states in John 3:16-17- “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Prayers for a blessed Good Friday and Easter Sunday 2025.
