Friday morning state and federal officials met with North Carrollton Mayor Ken Strachan and Shane Correro with Willis Engineering to do site inspections in Carroll County.
Carroll County was awarded a federal declaration for public assistance for the March 14-15 tornado.
Corey Blaylock, Director of Maintenance and Athletic Director for J. Z. George High School, showed officials where a washout occurred during the spring storm near the practice field at the school in North Carrollton.
“We visited six sites Friday where erosion, debris, and washouts occurred during the storms. Our efforts is to obtain all the funding we can to build back our infrastructure better than it was before the storms. We have documentation with pictures and coordinates that have been submitted to the state,” Mayor Strachan said who is also Carroll County’s emergency management director.
Ther will be additional visits next week to the county roads of northern Carroll County. According to Mayor Strachan, he documented the damage observed during site visits using Crisis Track, the state's reporting system.
