Thomas Luther Lott, 86, formerly of Kilmichael, passed away on June 8,
2020, at his home in Columbia. A memorial service for family was held
Saturday, June 13, at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Columbia and Revs. Erin and Robert Grant officiated. Visitation followed the service.
Mr. Lott was born in Kilmichael to the late Glynn Alleen Townsend and Yancy Marion Lott, Sr. on November 10, 1933. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University and a veteran of the United States Army.
He married Barbara Ilene Unvert of Sterling, Nebraska, on August 4, 1967. Mr. Lott served as an alcohol rehabilitation counselor for the Region VI Mental Health Center in Greenwood. He was a lifelong member of Kilmichael United Methodist Church.
Mr. Lott was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Yancy Marion Lott, Sr., a brother, Dr. Robert Townsend Lott, and a sister, Mary Glynn Lott Walters.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Unvert Lott of Columbia, daughters Angela Rose Lott Hahn (Lawrence) of Columbia and Juliet Yvonne Lott Long (Bryan) of Buffalo, Minn., grandchildren Thomas and Christopher Hahn and Elizabeth, Anna, and William Long, and one brother, Yancy Marion Lott, Jr. of Kilmichael.
