Services for Terry Wayne Williams were held Friday, June 1, 2018, at 10 a.m. graveside in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood.
Mr. Williams, 70, died on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
He was born on July 28, 1947 in Hattiesburg to Ira Bernard and Ruth Oneal Williams and resided in Greenwood. He retired from Viking Range after 20 years of service and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Williams proudly served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam in the 173rd Petroleum Unit and was recognized as a sharpshooter and received 2 Bronze Stars. He enjoyed fishing and cooking for his family. He is preceded in death by his father, Ira B. Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Williams of Hattiesburg; son, Mitch (Deanna) Williams of Greenwood; mother, Ruth Williams of Avalon; step-son, Ion (Deena) Mixon of Petal; two sisters, Jennifer (Larry) Kelly of Greenwood and Sherry Williams of Avalon; brother, John Williams of Avalon; five grandchildren, Haley Williams, Aubrey Williams, Micah Mixon, Morgan Mixon, and Miriam Mixon, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday May 31, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Dr. Jim Phillips officiated the services. Pallbearers were Anthony Gammill, Gage Gammill, Larry Wayne Kelly, John Ira Williams, Jr, and William Overstreet. Honorary Pallbearers were John Riley and Steve Riley. American Legion Post 29 performed military rites.
