Funeral services for Sylvester Smith of Greenwood, formerly of Carroll County, were held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at New Zion M.B. Church in Greenwood with Pastor Calvin Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Coila.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, February 16 at Sanders and Sanders Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church in Greenwood on Saturday. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
Mr. Smith, 72, died Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. A farmer, he was a member of Shady Grove M.B. Church.
He is survived by his sisters, Catherin Wooden of Greenwood and Mae Catherine Davis of Dumfries, Va.; and brothers, Benny F. Funderburg, Jr., of Chicago, Ill., and Jimmy Jackson of Pensacola, Fla.
Sanders and Sanders Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
