Funeral services for Mrs. Sue Bright Pyburn of Montgomery County were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2017, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Choctaw County, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Randy Bridges officiated the services.
Pallbearers were Scott Dean, Shane Knight, Brad King, Stephen Boren, Bobby Knight, Bryant Bell, and Rex May. Honorary pallbearers were Matthew Brown and Matthew Vinson.
Visitation was Thursday, February 22, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home; and on Friday, from 1 p.m. until service time, at the church.
Mrs. Pyburn, 79, died at Webster Long Term Care in Eupora on Tuesday, February 20. She was born in Caroway, Arkansas, on May 2, 1938, to John Thomas and Della Buchanan Williams, and spent her childhood in California. She had been a resident of Montgomery County since 1979. Mrs. Pyburn was a homemaker and lived a quiet life. She loved her children and grandchildren and devoted herself to them. Mrs. Pyburn was a member of Stewart Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Van J. Bright,
who died in 1984, and Lonnie Pyburn, who died in 2003; a daughter, Vicky Bright; two sisters; three brothers; and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Pyburn is survived by her children, Rhonda King, Randy Bright, Donny Bright, Larry Davis, and Debbie Knight; her grandchildren, Joey Vinson, Kaley Cox, Matthew Brown, Lauren Dean, Tyler Bright, Scott Dean, Shane Knight, Kristi McIlwain, Becky Griffith, Alison Miller, and Hannah Davis; her sister, Anna Tapley; and twenty great-grandchildren.
