Sambo Paris, 90, of Poplarville and formerly of Stewart died Friday, July 20, 2018 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg.
Visitation was 1 p.m until service began at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24 at Poplar Creek Nations Baptist Church near Kilmichael with burial following in the church cemetery.
Rev. Randy Bridges and Mr. Donnie Hovas officiated the services. Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Paris was born on April 4, 1928 to James S. and Luvanna Vail Paris in New Mexico. He was retired from McGregor Sportswear in Winona and raised cattle. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Mr. Paris is survived by his wife, Grace Rodgers Paris of Poplarville; his daughter, Cindy Weathersby and husband Bobby of Poplarville; granddaughter, Haley Weathersby Wood and husband Mason of Laurel; grandson, Aubrey Hayes Weathersby of Hattiesburg; and a great-grandaughter, Anne Parker Wood.
