Mrs. Sally McCrary Carson of Winona passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020, at Providence Assisted Living in Grenada.
Mrs. Carson, 81, was born in Montgomery County on October 11, 1938, to Forrest Emmett and Ruby Lou Donahoo McCrary. She was a retired nurse with Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona and a member of First Baptist Church in Winona. Mrs. Carson was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Winston “Wimpy” Carson.
Survivors include two daughters, Kay Carson Crawford of Flowood and Becky Carson Sims of Isola; one
son, Ronnie Carson of Grenada; one sister, Helen Malone of McCarley; two brothers, Charles McCrary of
Winona and Reece McCrary of McCarley; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Mission Baptist Church Cemetery near Winona. Rev. Rupert Ingram officiated the services.
Pallbearers was Carson Crawford, Charles Crawford, Matthew Sims, Riley Carson, Ledell Barrentine,and Mark Carwile.
A visitation was held on Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. until service time, at Oliver Funeral Home.
