Sadie Mae Mims, 78, of Greenwood died Monday, March 19, 2018 at Golden Age Nursing Home. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Malmaison Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Rev. Brad Hodges officiated.
She was born December 21, 1939, to Arthur Mims and Charlie Mae Goss Mims in Carroll County. She resided in this area all of her life and graduated from J.Z. George High School.
She worked at Conmar Industries for a number of years. She was employed at Malouf Music since 1968 as a bookkeeper. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Greenwood, and the Business Professional Women’s Club. She was elected Woman of the Year by club members in 1998. She was a resident of Golden Age for the past six years. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Betty Mims Blake.
She is survived by two sisters, Nellie Woolard of Greenwood and Mary Kimble of Greenwood; brother, Arthur Mims, Jr. of Carrollton; six nephews, Art Blake and wife Ann, William Blake, Kevin Blake and wife Angie, Todd Mims and wife Kay, Scott Mims, and Tracy Mims; two nieces, Arlene Johns and husband Jerry, and Debbie Fancher, and several great nieces and nephews.
