Rubin Odell "Dell" Lee

Rubin Odell "Dell" Lee, 88, of Vaiden died at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona on Monday, Oct.1.  

Visitation was from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Shongalo Presbyterian Church in Vaiden, and burial followed in Vaiden Cemetery.  Rev. Phil McRae officiated the service.
He was born in Carroll County on Oct. 31, 1929 to John B. and Minnie Odell Noah Lee.  He was a retired grocery store owner and operator in Greenville.  Mr. Lee was a member and elder emeritus of Blackmonton Presbyterian Church near Vaiden and a faithful attendee of Shongalo Presbyterian Church.  

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a past Master and Knight Templar York Rite Mason, and a recipient of the Knight York Cross of Honour.  He was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1949-57.
Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Dorothy Barrentine Lee.

Mr. Lee is survived by his wife, Maydeen Lee of Vaiden; sons, Wayne Lee of Greenville and Gary Lee of Vaiden; stepdaughter, Tammie Hudgins of Kosciusko; stepsons, Lewis Phillips of Pontotoc, Jimmy Phillips and Ken Phillips both of Greenville; sister, Mary Elizabeth "Sissy" Butler of Vaiden; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.  

Pallbearers will be Joe Don Jones, David Baker, Marion Jones, Marty Caldwell, Stan Rodgers, Shannon Self, Chris McRae, and Stanley Stewart.  Honorary pallbearers will be D'wayne Dunn, Bob McEachern, Wayne McDonald, Keith Booker, Travis Shark, James Wiley Nelms, Charles McCorkle, Wayne Cooke, Billy Vineyard, Dr. Tom Dulin, Clarence Pierce, Steve Armstrong, and Ken McDougal.
