Phillip Wayne Blount

Phillip Wayne Blount, 65, of Conway, Ark., formerly of Carroll County, died Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Baptist Hospital in Conway, Ark. Graveside services will be 3 p.m.  Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Malmaison Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.  Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Williams and Lord Funeral Home. Rev. Gary Tanner will officiate and will be assisted by Mr. David Burgess.

He was born in Carroll County on June 16, 1952, to Henry Franklin Blount and Ethel Beatrice Mann. He was a member of Malmaison Baptist Church.  He was a graduate of J.Z. George High School in North Carrollton and Mississippi Delta Community College in Moorhead. He was a United States Army Reservist and worked as a machinist before becoming disabled. His hobbies were hunting and fishing, and he was devoted to his family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Hannah Blount, two sisters, Sara Taylor, and Ethel Lee Montgomery, and his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Trenda Smith Blount of Conway, Ark.; son, Brad Blount and wife Denise  of Conway, Ark.;  two daughters, Stacey Benham and husband Brian of Conway, Ark., and Candice Cresswell of Conway, Ark.; six grandchildren, Jacob Fisk, Nathan Fisk, Keith Blount, Nicholas Blount, Kali Cresswell, and Zoey Cresswell; three brothers, Thomas Blount and wife Ruby of Carrollton, Henry Blount of Carrollton, Bill Blount and wife Debbie of Amory; sister, Lillie Fielder and husband Rev. Burnett of Gore Springs; brother-in-law, V.L. Montgomery of Tennessee, and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Fisk, Nathan Fisk, Nick Blount, Keith Blount, Heath Pugh, and Brandon Upchurch. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Montgomery, David Montgomery and Larry Taylor.

Williams and Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  An online guestbook may be signed at
