Mr. Percy Carl Daves, 77, of Carrollton, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada. He was born October 18, 1940, in Carroll County to Percy Alexander and Lucille Loden Daves. He was a farmer, a retired rural carrier with the United States Postal Service and formerly owned a construction business. He was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2017, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Gary Tanner officiating. Interment followed in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in the Jefferson Community of Carroll County. The family received friends one hour prior to the service Monday at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include his son, Stacy Daves and his wife, Stacy, of Carrollton; one granddaughter, Alyssa Daves of Carrollton; one grandson, Ty Daves of Carrollton; two sisters, Ann Harper and her husband, Charles, of Holcomb and Ruth Lake Lummus of Money; and one brother, James Coleman Daves of Holcomb.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Rachel McCalop Daves.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
