Ollie Ruth Coleman, 81, of Starkville, formerly of Kilmichael and Kosciusko, died on Sunday, Dec. 2 at Carrington Nursing Center in Starkville
Visitation was from 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at Meadowview Baptist Church were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville, with burial following in Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko. Rev. Jason Middleton and Rev. Dale Strickland officiated the services. Oliver Funeral Home of Winona (www.ofhwinona.com) handled arrangements.
Mrs. Coleman was born on April 30, 1937, in Quitman County to Jessie Alba and Henri Ruth Bradley Cook. She was a homemaker and a member of Meadowview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Ruth Coleman; and her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Robert H. Coleman of Starkville; her son, Robert H. Coleman Jr. (Sander) of Starkville; grandchildren, Pamela Morgan Anderson (Tim), Taylor E. Coleman, and Brayden Coleman; eight sisters, Peggy Shull (Tommy) of Southaven, Mildred Hamilton (Brewer) of Ecru, Evelyn Pladey (Tom) of Walesky, Ga., Lucy Schriber of LaGrange, Ga., Brenda Dover (Oliver)
of Ecru, Carol Tierce (George) of Cummings, Ga., Sandra Mayo of Sledge, and Ann Spires (Bobby) of England, Ark.; five brothers, John Cook (Lola) of Senatobia, James Earl Cook (Susie) of Sledge, James Albert Cook (Diane) of Senatobia, Charles Cook (Bobbie) of Senatobia, and Donnie Cook (Sandra) of Senatobia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were deacons of Meadowview Baptist Church.
