Mr. Mitchell F. "Mickey" Rushing, 79, of Winona died on Monday, December 4, 2017, at Vaiden Community Living Center in Vaiden. Mr. Rushing was the son of the late P.F. and Maxine Bowen Rushing and the widower of the late Rose Ann Rosamond Rushing. He was a retired employee of AT&T and a member of the former Stewart Methodist Church. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ronnie Keith Rushing and Evelyn Rushing Holmes.
Mr. Rushing is survived by his son, Dr. Keith Rushing and wife, Wendy, of Winona; sisters, Sandra Ballard of Eupora and Polly Childress of Stewart; and his grandchildren, Meredith Rushing Owen and husband, Tyler, of Jackson and Reed Rushing of Winona.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 8, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. Rev. T. R. Darsey officiated the services. Visitation was Thursday, December 7, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jerry Flowers, Tim Cook, Larry Pearson, Dr. Louie Harrison, John Wayne VanHorn, and Charlie Parkerson.
