Miriam Janet Smith, 78, of Adamsville, Tenn., (formerly of Carrollton), died Sunday, April 29, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her beloved family. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Carrollton Baptist Church with burial following at the Neshoba Baptist Church Cemetery in Neshoba County. Dr. Jake Roudkovski officiated the services. The family received friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday at Oliver Funeral Home in Winona.
Pallbearers were Delbert Edwards, Allen Lee, Snooky Lee, Jim Pilgreen, Chris Smith, and Alton Turnipseed.
Mrs. Smith was born to Leon and Mary Kate Crenshaw Smith on October 19, 1939, in Union, Mississippi. She was a member of Carrollton Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was a registered nurse for twelve years and a devoted pastor’s wife. She will be remembered as a true prayer warrior and one that loved to sew.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Rev. George Smith; three sons, Danny Smith (Dale) of Tupelo, Mark Smith (Kathey) of Monticello, Ark., and Tim Smith (Kelly) of Adamsville, Tenn.; one brother, Carey Smith (Suzanne) of Clinton; and five granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant older sister.
