Services for Lawrence Leroy Phillips were held Friday, January 19, 2018, at Black Hawk Methodist Church in Black Hawk at 2 p.m.
He was born on September 13, 1948, in Holmes County to the late Elvin and Mary Kate Phillips. Leroy Phillips passed peacefully at Tyler Holmes Hospital in Winona on January 15, 2018. He was of the Methodist faith. He was an Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam conflict. He was 69 years old.
He is survived by two sons, Brian Phillips of Greenwood and Michael Phillips of Tupelo; one brother, Gary (Michelle) Phillips of Blackhawk; two sisters, Donna (Doug) Everett of Black Hawk and Bess (Jamie) Ferguson of Blackhawk; one grandson, Justin Phillips of Greenwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Linda Faye Collins Phillips.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 1 p.m. till service time at Black Hawk Methodist Church. Jack Marshall officiated the services and was assisted by Bernard Wiggins. Pallbearers were friends and family. Burial was in Scotland Cemetery in Winona, following the services.
