J.W. Mims Jr., of Winona, 88, passed away at Cleveland Nursing and Rehab in Cleveland on Friday, July 3, 2020.
Visitation was Tuesday, July 7, from noon until service time, at the funeral home. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in New Hope Church Cemetery near Coila. Rev. Gene Jordan officiated the service.
J.W. Mims, Jr. was born on January 9, 1932, to John Wess and Lois Randall Mims in Black Hawk, Mississippi. He was a retired routeman for LuVel Dairy Products. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his daughter, Robin Ramage of Florence; son, Bobby Mims of Vaiden; sister, Vivian Brown of Brandon; and two grandchildren, Adam Ramage and Rebecca Murphy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Pace Mims; and his parents.
Pallbearers were Adam Ramage, Mickey Mims, Gerry Mims, Jiles Mims, Billy Mims, and Josh King. Honorary pallbearers were Derrell Mims and Robert Mims.
